ARTIST STATEMENT
While civilizations have looked to the skies for centuries as a source of sustenance and guidance, in this exhibition, and through the mediums of ink, paint and wax, the artist’s own examination of the celestial sphere explores these universal themes of nourishment, connection, and mysticism.
“Primarily inspired by sweeping terrains and ephemeral elements, in recent times the skies have captured my attention and focused my work on the intricacies of the natural system and an observation of its patterns, lines and colours.
The sky as a metaphor, expressing itself through the language of abstraction, has been an inspiration and a catalyst for insight, ideas and forms.”
